“Getting to Know the Sound Of Music”
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the cast and crew. You worked so hard yesterday (three performances in one day!!) The primary school audiences and evening audience were full of praise. I am bursting with pride and am really looking forward to the next 5 performances. Below are just few of the emails I received yesterday. Thanks again!
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you and well done to the whole cast and crew for a fantastic performance yesterday afternoon.”
“Stunning just stunning. I have never seen a school performance like it. So slick and professional. Thank you to all involved”.
“It has certainly inspired many of your future pupils to join the shows when they move to Teign school in the future”.
“The Sound of Music was a thoroughly professional show! Lots of support across the stage from cast members to one another. A real confidence in performing and a wealth of talent on display from singers, actor and backstage crew and lighting and sound.”
“Thought the whole production was amazing and it really lifted my spirits”.
“It was excellent truly excellent, and the sign of a great performance is that the crowd want more which the children that made up the audience most certainly did. they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.”
Mathematician of the Term
Each term, each teacher of the maths department nominates one student from every maths class to have the accolade of ‘Mathematician of the Term’. There have been lots of reasons for the awards this term; excellent assessment results; fantastic attitude towards maths; superb effort in every lesson; enthusiasm; helping other students; outstanding progress and working hard to improve. Students will also receive a certificate and ePraise points.
A huge congratulations to all from the Teign Maths Team

Friday 15th December
This year the Student Council has decided to support two worthwhile local charities by running a non-uniform day at Teign on the last day of term. Homeless in Teignbridge Support (HiTS) works with homeless people and those in crisis and need in our community, throughout Teignbridge and in the more rural areas. People that they have helped include those who are homeless, victims of domestic violence, ex-service personnel, the elderly, families in poverty, disabled people and many others.
The second local charity Teign will support is Dartmoor Community Kitchen Hub (founded by Stella West). This charity is a not for profit company with a passion for providing hot, nutritious, cost affordable, healthy meals for the elderly and vulnerable in our locality.
All children and staff are invited to wear a Christmas jumper (or top) over bottoms of their choice on the last day of school; Friday 15th December. We’d love everyone to take part so please encourage your child to participate in this non-uniform day (for a minimum donation of £1 paid to their tutor)*. This money will be divided equally between the two fantastic charities described above.
In addition, students from every tutor group are also being invited to collect non-perishable food items for HiTS (within their tutor bases) until Thursday 14th December. It would be wonderful if we could drop off a large amount of food to HiTS in addition to the money we collect from wearing our Christmas jumpers during the Christmas period.
Thank you in anticipation of your support. We all hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
